Merge Modern: Where Coffee and Creativity Converge

Merge Modern is Albuquerque’s newest art gallery, opening this December on the city’s West Side. It is a one-of-a-kind space where art, community, and craft coffee come together.

The gallery is a collaboration between Catalyst Coffee, celebrated for its handcrafted beverages and welcoming atmosphere, and artist and curator Angie Rehnberg, whose career in the art field spans over two decades. Angie has traveled as an art handler and exhibit specialist across New Mexico and at national art fairs including SOFA Chicago, Art San Diego, and Palm Springs Modernism. Her curatorial experience includes galleries in Santa Fe, Taos, and Albuquerque, and she currently serves as a gallery associate at Gallery Hózhó.

Michael Breden of Catalyst Coffee and Angie Rehnberg combined their visions to create Merge Modern, two distinct entities sharing one vibrant space. Visitors can enjoy locally roasted drinks while experiencing curated exhibitions featuring regional and national artists. Guests might also see Angie painting live, browse unique merchandise, or connect directly with artists.

Merge Modern officially launches this December with its first curated exhibition, showcasing staple artists from Albuquerque, the greater New Mexico region, and beyond. More than a gallery or a café, Merge Modern is a meeting ground, a spark, and a catalyst, a place where creativity and community converge.
